Hume School Free Practice Sessions--The Westcoast Swing can be danced to a variety of music--slow blues, rock, etc. The basic step is a six-count pattern. The six-count patterns include the sugar-push, lady's underarm turn, lady's walk-by, etc. Other patterns (taught in beginners' classes) are on an eight-count and these include all of what are called the whips. The dancers work with video lessons by Robert Royston and Michael Kiem. Music is almost always playing while dancers explore techniques, both by watching videos and receiving tips from various mentors. There is usually a shortage of men, so IF YOU'RE A SINGLE MALE, COME ON DOWN! . YouTube Links--Click on any one of them and have fun watching!
