Nelson’s Old-time Dance and Social Club presents a Midwinter Hoedown at 7 PM on Thursday, February 9 at the Scout Hall, 310 Cedar St. The evening features the lively music of Kootenay Kontraband: Craig Korth (banjo and guitar), Genie Sittig (fiddle), Catherine McGrath (mandolin), and David Feldman (upright bass). David Feldman will also be calling the dances, a mix of straightforward contras, easy to learn circle dances, and the occasional Virginia Reel. Bring your whole family (kids to grandma), indoor shoes, and water to drink.  Snacks are provided. Admission is $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under.
